Hello, fellow creatives!
I am so glad you found your way here because I can honestly say that I’ve never been more excited about or enjoyed any other digital creative process as much as slow shutter image-making.
And after two years' work bringing together my best ideas on creative slow shutter artistry, I can finally share everything I’ve learned with you!
Photography and art have always been the mediums I’ve turned to when life doesn’t quite live up to the dream — creativity has always saved me … And for the last 10 years, not just photography but Long Exposure (aka Slow Shutter) mobile photography has captivated me in a way that none of the other photographic techniques have.
There is something very special about the whole slow shutter creation process that totally engages me. During the capture stage, it feels like I am only partially in control as I watch the gorgeous melting colours and shapes unfold on my camera. I never quite know what I’m going to get and that is very exciting.
Then comes my favourite part of the creative journey: the editing part — interpreting these unique images and transforming them into art using painterly and compositing apps like Procreate on my iPad or iPhone.
This highly creative editing stage is the most all-encompassing part of the process for me, the bit where all the magic happens.
Through a combination of letting go and tightening up, here you gradually transform the initial slow shutter photo or photos into art, letting the subject itself speak before completing its journey as a finished composition.
I hope you’ll join me on this all new Creative Slow Shutter adventure and allow me to guide you through this truly unique and creative process of transforming your photos into art while helping you to express another side of your creative potential.
